This freelance and volunteer project was an opportunity to contribute to my community through design. The event was a New York City Mayoral Forum aimed at helping residents learn more about the candidates’ views on key issues such as the economy, transportation, housing, and immigration.
I collaborated with illustrator Violeta Encarnación, whose work played a central role in shaping the visual identity of the presentation. I selected a typeface that echoed the organic structure of the illustrated vines, while maintaining a professional tone suitable for the event. The typographic hierarchy was carefully crafted to complement—rather than compete with—the illustrations, creating a balanced and cohesive design.
